Dragon Sketchbook Doodle
Starting the week off with a another Sunday night doodle while watching TV with the fam. Dragons...who doesn't love 'em? They are so fun to draw. I have a seemingly endless number of them in my head wanting to get out. Should I see a health care specialist for this? ;-)
Jabberwocky Illustration For ZaPow Gallery Theme Show
Finished illustration for the Wonderland theme show at the ZaPow Art Gallery in Asheville N.C. that opens next week. All pieces in the show are from the book Alice In Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Each artist was assigned an excerpt from the book, mine was one with the Jabberwocky. There is just a short passage in the book with no description of the creature...plenty of room for me to run with it...just the way I like it!
Fun Magazine Spread Illustration
Recently I created two spreads and a fun logo for AAA Traveler Magazine. This is the first of the two spreads and the logo. The assignment was to depict fun activities to do while on vacation in Florida. Some of the destinations mentioned in the article include Disney World, Universal Studios, Lego Land and beach activities. The Minion on the roller coaster still cracks me up! It was a fun project to work on because after having lived in Florida for many years, all those destinations mentioned were familiar to me. Makes me wanna go back and do the parks again and get in some beach time!
Thanx AAA for such a fun project!!!
Monster Character Design Doodle Break
This is how I treat myself while working on my illustration deadlines at Fian.com. A quick fun monster character design doodle in my sketchbook...then back to work. It always keeps my creative juices flowing. I use Faber Castell India Ink markers and a Moleskin sketchbook...keepin' it simple...keepin' it real. Maybe I'll get the opportunity to create this in full color for an illustration assignment. That would be sweet!
