Art Nouveau Style Logo Sketch
Here is a sketch for another logo for the wonderful folks at Blue Ridge Adventures. Its a little different than what I usually do but I do like a challenge. They wanted the art noveau style....specifically Alphonse Mucha. The final logo will be created in Adobe Illustrator. I will post the final art later this week.
Lemme know what ya think....thanx!
My Old School Style Art Coming Soon As Prints
I recently got my work accepted into a gallery in downtown Asheville to sell prints and originals (if I can part with them) of my work. I will eventually be selling them here on my FB site as well as other venues such as Etsy and my website. Stay tuned for more info. Here is a work in progress of the style I will be promoting for prints. Its goin' old school pen with ink and watercolors on watercolor paper. I will also be proting my illustrations on prints as well but I really gotta get these creatures outta my head...there are soooo many of them to bring into the world. I am so excited to get this new direction going full steam.
University Mascot Character Design
Recently I was commissioned by Turkel Advertising in Miami, Florida to do a character design for Barry University. They needed a redesign for their parrot buccaneer mascot Bucky.
The first step was to draw sketches of numerous different pirate parrots, in Corel Painter using my Wacom Intous 4 tablet, to narrow down the direction we wanted to focus on.
After that was completed, finding the right combination of clothing, hat and what the character was going to be holding in his hands was the next step.
The next step was to create various color comps in Photoshop to get the colors right before going to final art. When we had what the character was going to look like wired, I went to final art and completed Bucky in Adobe Illustrator.
I also created color comps of Bucky for a costume design company to use as a guide in making a mascot costume.
Check out the final art along with 3 of the many ideas created in the process.
Lemme know what ya think.
