Kid Stuff Fall Catalog Cover Illustration

Recently I created an illustration for the Kid Stuff fall catalog cover. The client wanted to show a mixed ethnic family in a restaurant setting, so I thought a caucasion mom and son and hispanic father and daughter would be the best combo. I really thought that showing the boy with a missing tooth was funny and appropriate for that age...what kid that age isn't missing one or more teeth? :-) The Veggie Tales toy was the main focus so I made sure that one of them was in the center of the illustration to catch the viewers attention immediately.

How Fian sees the world

Check out how I see the world. I usually see creatures in everyday things and just thought I would start illustrating them...is that something that needs medical attention? :-)

I was looking out my studio window when I saw this creature in the branches of this fir tree, so I had to sketch it out. So if you see me giggling to myself...now you know why. Does that require medical attention as well? :-)

This could become a regular posting thang...waddayathink?

Humorous illustration and whimsical character design.

Road Runner character design

Recently I worked on a character development  project for the city of Las Cruces New Mexico's Convention and Visitors  Bureau. It is a roadrunner mascot developed for their VIK (Very  Important Kids). Here are a few of the many sketches I created along  with the final art for one of the poses. Click on the image and check it out. Waddayathink?

Evolution of an Illustration at Fian.com

Who says evolution doesn't exist? Check out  the evolution of an illustration created for a print ad and poster from  rough sketch to final print ad. it was a departure from what I usually do but I love a challenge and this was super fun to do. Lemme know what you think.

Fian Creates Illustration For Line Of Puzzles

I recently created artowork for a line of puzzles based on the game Skateboard Madness (which I created the character designs and illustrations for). It started out as a regular beach scene with the characters but then as it evolved, I turned it into placing as many out of place images I could think of and turned it into a "guess what doesn't belong in this picture" puzzle. The client loved it! Waddayathink?
